Andy Gonzalez is a Houston native who moved to Austin in 2011 with his wife Amanda and their three children.
A Brown Belt under Professor Mikal, Andy is passionate about the sport and about passing his knowledge on to students — the kind of coach who remembers exactly what it felt like to be new on the mats.
Outside the gym, Andy rock climbs, mountain bikes, and enjoys Austin's live music with his family.
"Practicing the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was something I never saw in the cards for myself. Yet here I am, training with some of the best people in the sport and joining the coaching ranks at the top BJJ school in Central Texas. I'm in my early 40s and in the best shape of my life.
